For 9 months, Crimea has already exported products worth USD 26.2 million

For 9 months of 2020, the export of the Republic of Crimea has increased by 8.6% in comparison with the same period of previous year. Dmitry Sheryako Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Crimea announced about it.

"In January-September of 2020, export of the Republic of Crimea amounted to about USD 26.2 million. This is 8.6% more than in the same period of previous year. Values of export amounted USD 6.6 million to distant countries, USD 19.5 million to C.I.S. countries», said  Dmitry Sheryako.

The Minister noted that the largest trading partners in the export of the Republic of Crimea on the results of 9 months 2020 are (in descending order of value): Ukraine (43 %), Belarus (20.7%), China (13.2%), India (10%), Qazakhstan (6.7%), Uzbekistan (1.8%), Kyrgyzstan (1.2%), Armenia (0.9%).

"In recent years, the commodity structure of the republic's exports has not changed. Major exports: alimentary goods and raw materials for their manufacture (51.5 %), engineering products (24.6 %), chemical industries (18.6 %). Export of alimentary goods and agricultural commodities for the manufacture amounted USD 13.47 million. This is 11 % more than the volume of the same period in 2019", said the minister.

Dmitry Sheryako specified that the export of engineering products amounted USD 6.4 million or 139.3% of the volume of the same period in 2019. Optical, photographic instruments and devices, various equipment and mechanical devices, and means of ground transport are represent the list. These goods are exported to India, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Exports of chemical products amounted to USD 4.9 million. These are products of inorganic chemistry; tanning or dyeing extracts; plastics and products made from them. These goods were exported to Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, India, Uzbekistan, Armenia, and Tajikistan.

The Minister noted that the volume of supported exports under state support programs amounted to USD 8.049 million. The number of companies that received state support in the form of services of the Southern Regional Export Support Center for 11 months of operation amounted to 289 (unique) business entities. In 2020, 121 SMEs were trained by the REC school. The total number of services rendered in 11 months of 2020 is 1.482. The total number of services rendered in 11 months of 2020 is 1.482.

Recall that in the Crimea, the Southern Regional Export Support Center is engaged in promoting goods and services of the Crimea to foreign markets of the countries of the far and near abroad. The Center provides financial and non-financial support measures and gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to enter into export contracts.

"Regarding imports, the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Crimea in January-September of 2020 is estimated at USD 58.6 million or 83.3% of the volume of the same period last year", said Dmitry Sheryako.

227 participants of foreign trade activities of the republic, including 161 legal entities, carried out foreign trade activities in January-September of 2020.

Also in January-September of 2020, the import of the Republic of Crimea amounted to USD 32.4 million, which is 29.9% less than the volume of the same period last year. The value of imports from distant countries amounted to USD 13.5 million.
