Since the beginning of the holiday season, the tourist flow to Crimea has increased by 11%
Since the beginning of the holiday season, from July 1 to December 31, the tourist flow has increased by 11% to 5.8 million tourists. At the same time, Crimea is the only one among the subjects of the Southern Federal District, and among all subjects of the Russian Federation, was in the black in terms of industry revenues in 2020. According to FSSS, direct income of collective accommodation facilities sanatoriums, boarding houses, holiday homes, camp sites for 9 months of 2020 increased by 2% to 27.9 billion rubles compared to the same period last year.
In general, in 2020, 6 million 303 thousand tourists rested in the Crimea. Including in December, the tourist flow amounted to 277.7 thousand tourists, which is 24% higher than in December 2019, in October the figure increased by 30.7% to 427 thousand tourists, in September by 40% to 1.1 million tourists, in August by 15.3% to 2.1 million tourists.
In 2020, 30% of tourists arrived by air, 64% by road on the Crimean Bridge, 5% by railroad, and 1% across the state border of the Russian Federation on the site: Armyansk, Dzhankoy, Perekop.
"In the past year, there were no serious disruptions in the work of accommodation facilities, which was made possible due to the professionalism of tourism workers. And in general, 2020 once again showed us how effectively business and authorities can interact and allowed us to outline further development paths taking into account new realities", said Vadim Volchenko, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea.
According to him, in 2020, the tourism sector of the Republic received a very serious reserve for the future and was able not only to work effectively under restrictive measures, but also received good opportunities for further development and implementation of new serious projects.
