Measures of state support for tenants of Federal property have been expanded
Measures of state support for tenants of Federal property have been expanded. On May 16, 2020, the Government of the Russian Federation approved Order № 1296-R on expanding measures to support tenants of Federal property in the context of the spread of a new coronavirus infection.
According to the document, now a delay and exemption from paying rent for Federal property can also be obtained by socially oriented non- profit organizations-performers of socially useful services, similar to small and medium-sized business. For tenants of Federal property that makes up the state Treasury of the Russian Federation, contracts with whom were concluded before April 1, 2020, the period of validity of the benefit for deferred payment of lease payments until October 1, 2020 has been extended by three months (previously, the period was April − June 2020). It will be possible to repay the resulting debt within two years − from January 1, 2021 to January 1, 2023, in stages, no more than once a month, in equal payments, the amount of which does not exceed the amount of half of the monthly rent under the lease agreement.
In addition, the procedure for obtaining an exemption from paying lease payments for the 2nd quarter of 2020 has been simplified. It is sufficient for the lessee to operate in one or more industries from the list of the most affected industries approved by the Government Decree № 434 of 03.04.2020. The main or additional types of economic activity will determine such a tenant.
In order to get a benefit for deferral or exemption of payment of lease payments, the lessee must send an appropriate application to the Interregional territorial administration of Rosimushchestvo in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
